About the role
An opportunity for a Part Time Logistics Officer has become available within our Chemical Sales team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for planning and scheduling the distribution of chemical products efficiently and safely, according to customer demand and product availability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating shipping for chemical exports and imports.
- Coordinating domestic road and rail logistics.
- Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that customer service requests and inquiries are resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all relevant despatch documentation is completed for each despatch, including dangerous goods checklists, road delivery notes, and shipping documentation.
- Coordinating external services required to safely distribute chemical products, such as export inspections.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in current systems and processes and taking a leading role in developing and implementing solutions.
- Providing customers with accurate and timely order processing services and invoicing of products.
Do you have the following skills and experience?
- Previous experience within import/export shipping and road/rail logistics, or similar.
- Strong communication skills with well-developed customer service skills.
- High attention to detail with an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflict in an effective manner.
- Dangerous Goods experience is preferred but not essential.
- SAP experience is preferred but not essential.
This role is a 6-month fixed term, part time position. Working days can be adapted to suit the right candidate however the ability to work on a shared weekend roster is essential.
We are seeking a candidate who can work either:
- 4 day weekend roster working Friday to Monday (0.8 FTE); or
- 2-3 day weekday roster with rotating weekend roster (0.6 to 0.8 FTE).
The role requires some flexibility in regard to hours worked in order to meet our customer expectations. This position will suit remote/work from home workers while ensuring effective communication and coordination with the Kwinana based team and West Australian based customers.
