Position Summary
- Part time opportunity (16 hours p/w) for a qualified Cardiac Physiologist to progress their career with Austin Health
- Five weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part time), plus purchased leave options
- Heidelberg location, with easy access to public transport with Heidelberg train station right outside our front door!
- Responsible for human resource requirements at a unit level including recruitment and selection, daily staffing, leave management, rostering and attendance management.
- Provide expert clinical knowledge and direction to ensure that clinical standards, policies and procedures promote a patient focused model of care
- Work collaboratively across the Cardiology Department and with other medical staff
- Perform clinical duties in the department
- Act as a role model for staff, setting and clearly communicating clinical and behavioural expectations
- Provide timely performance feedback, coaching and guidance when needed in accordance with the performance management policy.
- Provide staff with professional development opportunities for learning and education.
- Implement strategies to retain staff including positive recognition, and comprehensive orientation, building a cohesive team culture, coaching and mentoring and providing learning opportunities.
- Ensure a high level of work quality, develop, implement and monitor quality improvement activities within the department/ward, in accordance with Austin Health Policies as varied from time to time.
- Certificate in Advanced Cardiac technology or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science, Applied Science or equivalent.
- Post graduate experience, possessing in depth knowledge in one or more specific branches of Cardiac Physiology
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team and service
- Demonstrated ability to lead a group in accordance with the values of the hospital and Cardiology Department
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff at all levels.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including negotiation and influencing, creative problem solving and conflict resolution
