Sport has the power to transform communities. It improves the mental, physical, educational and economic health of the nation. It fosters community spirit and brings people together. The Australian Sports Foundation helps Australian sporting clubs and individuals raise funds for their sport. It advocates and raises awareness for Australian sport, understanding its power to transform communities. It administers a Charitable Fund which supports causes that use sport as a medium to achieve social change. It focuses on helping kids get active, on breaking down barriers for entry for women, and on bringing more diversity to sport and access for all.
Following 10+ successful years of consistent leadership, the Australian Sports Foundation is seeking an experienced CEO to further its mission. Reporting to the Board, candidates will bring a passion for sport, understanding its power to connect and benefit people and communities. You will come from executive leadership, having gravitas and presence as an inspirational figure head (leading geographically dispersed groups), strong financial acumen combined with a highly developed sense of risk (both commercial and reputation), honed stakeholder engagement skills (across sport, politics and philanthropy) with an excellent media presence, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Experience using technology as an enabler and leading technology transformationswill be highly regarded. These skills will be supported by the highest levels of integrity.
Our focus is on the capabilities, experience and style, we are open to candidates from different industry sectors. You could come from a sizeable for-purpose entity with a large fundraising focus, to bring an understanding of and connections in the philanthropic world and business corporate social responsibility, or highly developed relationship sales expertise. Alternatively, you could come from the public service or within consulting demonstrating leadership, stakeholder engagement and an entrepreneurial spirit.
