Our client, a dynamic and evolving family-owned business, is seeking a highly accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial excellence and strategic growth within a diverse and ambitious group. Located in the vibrant Western Suburbs of Sydney, this position requires a dedicated professional who thrives in a collaborative and hands-on environment.
Role Overview:
As the CFO, you will provide hands-on leadership and direction to the finance team, ensuring the financial integrity and strategic alignment of the group. You will play a pivotal role in transforming financial systems and processes to meet the evolving needs of the business. Your expertise will be crucial in advising the Managing Director and key stakeholders on financial planning, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring the company's operational and strategic goals are met. Finally, you will take hands-on responsibility, with the support of a small team, in the delivery of accurate and timely financials across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Compliance:
- Lead the preparation of all month-end reporting and oversee operational accounting functions.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all ASIC/ATO reporting and compliance requirements.
- Develop and execute annual, 3-year, and 5-year budgets and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow reporting and implement effective management strategies.
Systems and Process Development:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of all finance and operational systems.
- Lead the implementation of systems development projects, ensuring they align with the group's objectives.
- on new business ventures and development transactions.
Company Secretarial:
- Oversee and maintain all company insurance policies and ASIC reporting.
- Ensure all entities comply with ASIC guidelines.
You will have your eyes across the breadth of the company and be able to identify opportunities to add value and elevate the sophistication of the group with your enviable financial, commercial and operational skill set.
You will have substantial experience working with private companies to develop outstanding reporting tools and financial sophistication. Highly developed interpersonal skills, coupled with an ability to influence across a range of people in a thriving company will be highly regarded.
CA/CPA qualifications will be highly regarded, as will experience in property, construction or the manufacturing industry.
