Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation (Gallang Place) has been in operation for over 26 years and has undergone substantial growth in the last 6 years of operating. We have developed our core business of providing counselling and social services to larger operations, as well as the bringing online of accredited training offered through Gallang Education and Training.
The role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is pivotal to lead and develop the organisation through a new phase of Gallang Place’s journey. While the Board of Directors is the primary authority for the governance, the CEO will have delegated direction, control, and management and operational powers of the organisation.
The CEO is responsible to the Board for the overall leadership and management of the organisation. This includes an external focus on relationships with governments, members and other key stakeholder groups, positioning and marketing, strategic partnerships, advocacy, financing and commercialisation. In addition to working directly with the Board, the CEO oversees the internal functions of the organisation, such as operations, administration, finance and program management predominantly through delegation and management of staff. The CEO is delegated authority from the Board of Directors to manage the day-to-day business and implement the Board set strategy for the organisation.
