As the peak LGBTIQ+ youth organisation in Queensland, ODYS provides vital support services to young people aged 12 - 24, covering areas such as housing, mental health, alcohol and other drugs and suicide prevention.
The CEO role at ODYS offers a unique opportunity to lead an organisation that is dedicated to empowering young LGBTIQ+ individuals and creating a supportive community. This is a chance to shape the strategic direction of the organisation and drive positive change.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the execution of the ODYS strategic plan, working closely with staff, volunteers, the board and key stakeholders
- Secure funding through government grants, community partnerships and philanthropy to increase capacity and expand services
- Advocate for the voices of young LGBTIQ+ people in Queensland, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of conversations
- Build strong, effective stakeholder relationships across the political, NFP and community services landscape
- Ensure organisational governance and financial sustainability
As the successful candidate, you will bring a wealth of leadership experience and a deep understanding of the complex needs and nuances of the LGBTIQ+ community, with a particular focus on young people. Your political astuteness and advocacy skills will be instrumental in making sure their voices are heard.
