TheOpportunity

We areseeking an inspirational and influential leader who has expertisein strategic leadership, financial management, business acumen andrisk management. In this role you will provide strategic leadershipacross the Corporate Services Directorate to ensure financialmanagement and information technology meets internal and externalbusiness requirements. You will direct strategic, operational andtactical matters as they relate to financial and managementaccounting support services, budget management, cost-benefitanalysis, forecasting needs and the securing of newfunding.

As a memberof the Executive Management Team (EMT), you will contribute to thevision and strategic direction of the Shire and provide leadershipin the establishment, integration and ongoing management of thefinancial and ICT policies, systems and processes that contributeto the achievement of our organisational goals andobjectives.

You willbe

• Participating as amember of the Executive Management Team in forward planning andthe preparation of strategic documents;
• Leadingthe Corporate Services Directorate in providing high qualitysupport to Council in the areas of financial services,communication and ICT, contracts and procurement;
• Coachingyour senior leaders to create a culture where businessactivities are carried out in a manner that enhances thereputation of the Directorate and the Shire;
• Ensuringthe organisation’s corporate and financial services meetrequired standards and are aligned with the Shire’sStrategic Community Plan and Corporate BusinessPlan;
• Providing timely,strategic and accurate advice and support to the ChiefExecutive Officer and Council with regard to matters related tothe core functions of the directorate;
• Ensuringthat services are professionally managed in accordance withrelevant legislative compliance, Council policies and availablebudget;
• Leadingand coaching a multidisciplinary team to achieve highproductivity that delivers services in line with organisationalvalues, standards and policies.

A BachelorDegree in Accounting or Commerce, current membership of either CPAAustralia as a Certified Practising Accountant or the Institute ofChartered Accountants in Australia as a Chartered Accountant, and acurrent unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’sLicence are essential for this role.

We areoffering a remuneration package inclusive of allowances andSuperannuation of $200,000plus(dependent on skills and experience) per annum for thisrole.
