MPI have partnered exclusively with a rapidly growing ASX listed mining and exploration company, discovering and developing their gold projects in the heart of the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Supported by existing cashflows from operations and a production profile set for a significant step change increase, they are concurrently growing their resources and reserves through an aggressive and exciting mixture of greenfields and brownfields exploration.
On their behalf we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive team and play a pivotal role in supporting the current and future company strategy.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director with a key focus on building the financial framework to facilitate the transition from developer to producer. As a key business partner to the executive team & board, you will oversee the development of appropriate financial systems and processes that support project studies, development and larger production and processing facilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility and accountability for the finance function including but not limited to, annual and half yearly statutory reporting, external audit and investor relations processes, including submission of financial statements with ASX/ASIC and bookkeeping management.
- Presentations to the board, executive and audit committees on the group’s financial performance, statutory reporting and risk management. This includes all treasury, taxation and hedging activities.
- Providing strategic decision support, modelling and project evaluation to the Board and Managing Director on future growth opportunities.
About you
To be considered for this role you have already worked in a senior finance role in the mining sector ideally with surface or underground base or precious metals experience in a junior to mid-tier mining company specifically in WA.
- CA or CFA qualifications with a strong technical accounting background
- Proficient understanding of Pronto as a preferred software package, but not essential.
- Experience working within an ASX listed gold producer – listed producers of other commodities will also be considered.
- Involvement with development staged operations through feasibility into production
- Experience in capital raisings, debt and equity funding
- Previous experience executing in a dual CFO/Co-Sec capacity is desirable.
