AddressDue to significant growth over the past two years our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the executive team. The COO will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the group, ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
You will be responsible to:
- Coordinate with the CEO and other executives to achieve the group goals and develop/implement strategies.
- Lead, manage, and oversee all operational aspects of each vertical within the group.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and provide reports to the executive team.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Oversee project management, from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in operational processes.
Qualifications and Traits:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in heavy industry with ideally the majority of experience in the civil industry, with at least 8 years in a senior management role. Some mining and/or marine experience would be beneficial
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and operational leadership.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- It is imperative we bring on a leader who is willing to role his/her sleeves up initially and when required.
