About the Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key Executive role responsible for the overall operational management of both residential care facilities and home and community care services. The COO will lead the implementation of Catholic Homes’ organisational strategy to deliver exceptional care to our residents and clients. The role will drive financial sustainability, maintain growth of our service offerings, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Embracing our Mission, Vision and Values, the Chief Operating Officer role will be responsible for:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Residential Care and Home & Community Care services;
- Champion and model contemporary and best practice leadership approaches to optimise employee engagement and performance outcomes;
- Develop and implement responses to trends and challenges in the aged care sector; and
- Lead revenue growth and service diversification.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of the Catholic Homes Strategic Plan.
- Lead the Operations Management Team to achieve customer goals within funding parameters;
- Monitor customer feedback and drive continuous improvement;
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations;
- Manage operational budgets for financial sustainability and efficiency;
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position you will demonstrate:
- Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in the aged care sector, with a strong understanding of both residential care facilities and home care services.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- Proven track record in operational leadership, strategic planning, and financial management.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements including clinical governance and Aged Care Quality Standards.

- Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
- Current GAICD membership or working towards (desirable).
