Responsibilities
Scale up algae production to commercial scalable levels.
Develop the processes and systems to scale up and maintain full scale production.
Designing algae and conducting experiments, making observations and measurements, researching information, analysing data, supervising the work of staffs.
Supervising the preparation of laboratory reports.
Investigating the chemical structure and function of algae.
Planning and undertaking experiments regarding algae cultivation and optimisation.
Investigating the effects of environmental factors, such as rainfall, temperature, sunlight, soil, topography and disease, on algae cultivation.
Create and manage capital and operating budgets for the production team.
Designing and implementing downstream processing techniques.
Engineering of algae production systems.
Manage facility audits and regulatory compliance.
Attend, participate in, present results, and produce strategic plans at executive meetings.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can push the boundaries of technology.
Qualifications
Masters in Aquaculture, Biology or equivalent
5+ years of experience managing production level aquaculture facilities.
Extensive hands-on laboratory experience and scale production in PC2 and/ or cGMP compliant facilities
Experience in developing, constructing and operating downstream processing lines for biologics.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets and meeting project deadlines.
Experience in automation protocol development
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis expertise
Strong organisation, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop and mentor a team of researchers
