As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) you will be responsible for leading and scaling Swyftx’s Engineering function and influencing business-critical architecture, engineering practices, culture, and long-term technology decisions.
You will inspire and coach senior team members to build world-class teams and deliver unrivalled outcomes, that are aligned with our purpose, mission, and vision, while also driving Swyftx towards the achievement of strategic objectives. Please note that this role will be based in Brisbane and we have a hybrid work environment, with two days in our beautiful Milton office and 3 days from home.
- Lead Swyftx's Engineering Team in line with the organisation’s purpose, mission, and vision, partnering with Executives to drive overall strategy and achieve strategic goals.
- Develop and embed the engineering vision and technical roadmaps, fostering a strong engineering culture of collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and growth.
- Manage and coach Engineering Leaders, ensuring high-performance teams through Agile software development practices, continuous improvement and secure coding practices.
- Ensure clear communication of strategic objectives and actionable key results to the engineering team and monitor progress, resolve technical disagreements, and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Closely collaborate with the Head of Product to formulate Product vision by representing the technology perspective in discussions and providing solutions.
- Demonstrated CTO experience in several previous high-growth environments, showcasing dynamic leadership within engineering teams.
- Hands-on expertise driving agile transformations in scaleup contexts, fostering adaptable and innovative teams.
- Proven record of cultivating high-performance engineering cultures that excel in self-sufficiency and innovation.
- Deep understanding and application of Agile software development practices and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of P&L reporting.
- Strong understanding of the levers in the Engineering team from both a financial and non-financial perspective.
- Possess an innovative and ‘can do’ attitude but respect the importance of good governance and risk practices, including a strong appreciation of ‘best in class’ cyber security practices.
- Demonstrated success in architecting and delivering globally scalable platforms, including robust software, architecture, and API design.
- Strong self-awareness, drive, and empathy, with exceptional interpersonal skills to foster positive collaboration across diverse teams and business units.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven track record of leading through influence and collaboration.
