The opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our organisation's technology strategy and drive innovation in medical research. Reporting to the Deputy Director & Head Office of Research, the CTO will play a critical role in leveraging technology to accelerate our research efforts, enhance collaboration, and maximise the impact of our work.
We are looking for a people centric leader with strong technology service delivery experience in a research or healthcare setting. To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional change management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder management skills to enhance and further refine our organisation.
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Effectively communicate the organisation's technology vision, strategies, and progress to internal stakeholders, external partners, and the broader community
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of technology professionals, promoting professional growth and development
- Foster collaboration and partnerships with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and government agencies
- Drive innovation in medical research through the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies, while ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
What we need from you:
- Significant experience in a senior leadership role, specialising in technology strategy and innovation
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated expertise in people management, with a successful history of building and leading high performing teams
- Knowledge of relevant technologies and their application in medical research
- Extensive experience working in research or healthcare environments
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; (advanced degree a plus)
