- The Child and Family Health Nurse provides health screening, surveillance and early identification of concerns of children 0-5 years with the aim of promoting and improving the health of children.
- The Nurse works in partnership with the family to provide anticipatory guidance which builds a family’s resilience and capacity to strengthen the family’s relationship with the child.
- You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and have an understanding of the Child and Family Health Nursing scope of practice and the relevant evidence-based health surveillance, assessment frameworks and referral pathways.
- You will be providing care in both the clinic and home settings.
- There are two positions available with the option of combining the FTE:
- Maternity Leave relief 0.5FTE until 10/6/2025
- Permanent part-time 0.3FTE
- The Child and Family Health team work within the wider Hunter Valley Community Health Nursing team, based at Muswellbrook.
- The services are provided to communities throughout Upper Hunter Valley, including Murrurundi, Scone, Muswellbrook, Denman and Merriwa.
- You are expected to work in all service areas.
- Due to the large geographical distances, the Nurse can drive up to approx. 1 hour to home visits or to a Health Centre.
- Muswellbrook is located in the rolling vineyards of the world-famous Hunter Valley wine country, where you can taste incredible local produce, take beautiful scenic drives, and discover art galleries featuring acclaimed national works.
