About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager Primary Health Care Service, as the Child and Family Health Nurse, you will be motivated to provide contemporary, evidence-based nursing services evidenced by educational preparation, continued professional development, adherence to relevant legislation and the context of care.

Specifically, you will:
- Conduct health assessments, developmental screenings, and growth monitoring for children.
- Provide culturally sensitive guidance and support to parents and caregivers on child health, nutrition, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement health promotion initiatives and educational programs.
- Administer immunisations and vaccinations according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, ensuring data privacy and confidentiality.
- Participate in community outreach programs and events to promote child health and well-being.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate health care in collaboration with individuals, groups, families, and communities.
About You
You have:
- The ability to identify key concepts related to working with children and their families including keeping children safe, growth and development, attachment theories and engaging with infants, children, and families.
- The ability to work autonomously and in a team to achieve service objectives.
- A strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and its application in healthcare.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Effective time management skills and an ability to prioritise responsibilities to meet stipulated deadlines.
To be considered for the role you require:
- Contemporary clinical knowledge in Child Health nursing.
- Experience working with children and their families with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children using techniques that are appropriate for age and developmental stages, while supporting families to participate in health - care through a negotiated partnership approach.
- Driver's License (unrestricted).
- A recognised Child and Family Health nursing qualification (desirable not essential).
