POSITION TITLE: Registered Nurse/ Midwife - Child and Family Health - Karitane
DEPARTMENT: Residential Unit
OPERATIONAL BASE: Carramar
STATUS: Permanent Part-time (up to 32 hour’s pw) including night shifts
VACCINATION CATEGORY: A - High Risk (including full COVID-19 – 3 doses and influenza Vaccinations
INDUSTRIAL AWARD: Public Health System Nurses’ and Midwives’ (state) Award 2021- and is also aligned to the Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Nurses Agreement 2017.
What you will be doing
The Child and Family Health (CFH) nurse practice above the level of a registered nurse, working within a primary healthcare model with families who have infants and/or young children 0-5 years.
Our Model of Care is designed to build parental confidence and skills through the provision of information, resources, interventions, guidance and role modelling safe responsive care. The successful candidate will work with evidenced based screening tools and assessments to identify health variations or vulnerabilities to negotiate individual care plans and interventions that meet the needs of the family.
Key Selection Criteria: (Each criteria must be addressed in your application)
1. Current NSW Registration Nurse or Midwife (NSW) List A
2. A recognised child and family health qualification or working towards.
3. Demonstrated experience in child and family health nursing, paediatrics, midwifery or equivalent with an understanding of psychosocial factors that can impact families
4. Demonstrated advanced communication skills in mixed modalities
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Demonstrated advanced computer skills and familiarity with data collection systems and practices
7. Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with clients
8. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
9. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
Please note: If you work in the NSW Public Health system and other Affiliated Health Organisations your accruals of leave and service can be transferred across to Karitane.
