Salary commencing at $39.22 per hour plus 10.5% superannuation (commensurate with experience)

As an experienced and motivated children and youth library technician, you will maintain our outstanding programs for young children and increase our engagement with young adults by delivering responsive teenage programs.

The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council plays a key role in the development and delivery of library services and programs for children and youth in Moonee Valley. Working as part of a professional and friendly team, you will provide high quality customer service to residents.
Responsibilities
Provide prompt, accurate, courteous and consistent service when dealing with citizens and ensure that all obligations, agreements and deadlines are met whilst always seeking positive outcomes for those dealing with the City of Moonee Valley
As a customer service shift supervisor, demonstrate leadership and a team approach to staff to ensure efficient operation of the library.
Plan, prepare and conduct story times, and prepare and conduct school holiday and other promotional activities.
Ensure that an adequate collection of children and young adult material is maintained, and report regularly on stock needs.
Skills & Experience
A diploma of Library and Information Services acceptable for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or relevant experience in the provision of public library service
Some experience working in public libraries or in the area of service to children and young adults
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
