About the Role
The role involves ensuring the safe travel of children to and from schools within the municipality by overseeing Children’s Crossings.
Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Children’s Crossings, the primary duties include:
- Supervising and ensuring the safety of children and the public utilising Children’s Crossings.
- Operating the crossing in strict adherence to the Children’s Crossing Supervisor Safe Work Procedure.
- Consistently wearing provided uniforms and utilising safety equipment during duty hours.
- Maintaining vigilance and remaining present at the crossing throughout assigned shifts.
- Exercising patience and diligence in supervising children.
- Building positive relationships with the public and providing assistance as needed.
- Considering traffic needs to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise congestion.
About You
- Confident demeanour and a compassionate approach when interacting with children and managing traffic.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills, experience with technology such as email and internet usage.
- Possession of a valid Working with Children Card employee.
- Potential to develop in all competencies outlined in the position description.
