The Opportunity
As an Senior Events Officer in the City of Perth, you will lead the project management, creative development, and delivery of the City’s major events while liaising and fostering good relations with stakeholders in the City to establish a coorperative approach to the delivery of events.
Reporting to the Events Coordinator within our City Events team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Providing specialist operational advice, investigations, reporting or making recommendations on the development and delivery of major events aligned to the City’s Events Strategy;
- Managing infrastructure, production and performance content for the City’s major events adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, and City policies and processes;
- Preparing tender specifications and event documentation for the creative and production requirements of major events, including Event Risk Management Plans and Evacuation Plans;
- Mentoring team members to deliver optimum results and develop their capabilities; and
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to achieving the outcomes of the Events Strategy.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Significant experience in major event planning, development, delivery and evaluation;
- Significant knowledge of risk management and Occupational Safety and Health procedures in relation to safe event delivery, including relevant legislation and regulations;
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple event projects in a fast-paced environment, with the skills to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly regarding stakeholder relationship management, with the ability to negotiate issues, resolve conflict, network and influence other; and
- Proven experience in financial management and reporting associated with projects.
