How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is seeking a full-time Infrastructure and Asset Manager based in Katherine, NT. 

This role supports and assists the Director of Council Operations in the provision of infrastructure asset management, Civil & Capital Works, and operational services to ensure high productivity and effective staff supervision across the region.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing high-level administrative and technical advice on infrastructure management
  • Managing and supporting the infrastructure and planning team
  • Developing and implementing asset management and replacement plans
  • Managing the asset management budget, including forecasting and reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing asset management plans and schedules
  • Ensuring compliance and quality in project and contract management

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all activities.

What you’ll bring to the team

To be considered for this role, qualifications or extensive experience in Project Management, Asset Management, and/or Procurement is required. Having a Certificate IV in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Extensive knowledge of contract and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast, develop, and manage budgets
  • Proficiency in writing complex, non-standard documents
  • Administration and financial management knowledge and skills
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities
  • Knowledge of procurement practices and legislative requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote communities
  • Prior experience working in a remote community or regional council (highly desirable)
  • Work Health & Safety understanding
