Position Overview:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Estimator to join our Queensland team. The successful candidate will lead a small but highly capable team of professionals throughout the tender process including actively participating in the preparation of first principal cost estimates.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the estimating department and manage the team efficiently
- Participate in identifying the right project opportunities for the business
- Manage the tender process from start to finish including preparing detailed staging plans, construction programs and first principal cost estimates
- Ability to identify key risks and opportunities associated with the tender and formulate strategies to address
- Write construction methodologies which demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the work being tendered
- Lead the post tender process until a contract is awarded in favour of Hazell Bros
- Manage the handover process from the estimating department to the construction team
- Conduct post submission reviews to improve tender outcomes
Requirements:
- Proven track record preparing civil construction estimates across a range of disciplines including extensive experience with TMR bids
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- Proficient in Expert Estimation and MS Project
- Well-developed leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prepare professionally written submissions to address non-price tender assessment criteria
- Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
- Comprehensive skills, knowledge and experience in negotiating within the pre-contract environment
