The Gig

With a strong pipeline of demolition projects on deck, a role has become available for an analytical and technical, Senior Estimator with strong interpersonal skills to join the business to support the ongoing growth.

Your primary goal is simple – Joining a work winning team, you will be held accountable for producing consistent and accurate cost estimates on bids within the construction, resources, and industrial services sectors within the business.

Reporting to directly to the Managing Director, and working on the Gold Coast;

You will be trusted with:

• Developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction, resources, and industrial projects on a first principle basis
• Analysing plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates
• Working closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets
• Performing site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating and to understand project constraints and requirements
• Reviewing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids to determine the best fit for project requirements and budget
• Developing and submitting competitive bid proposals, ensuring all necessary documentation is included and accurate
• Tracking project costs and progress, comparing actual performance to estimated costs to identify variances and implement corrective actions
• Keeping an up-to-date database of cost information, including historical data, current market trends, and material costs
• Identifying potential risks in the estimating process and develop strategies to mitigate
• Maintaining clear and professional communication with clients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding estimates and project costs

What’s In Your Toolbox?You are accurate, conscientious, and efficient. You have an exceptional ability to interpret complex data into communicable, logical information that is readily accessible to both internal and external stakeholders, and you have exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to juggle multiple bids at once.

You will have at least 5 years estimating experience within civil construction and to first principles methodologies, and prior knowledge of estimating software such as benchmark would be ideal.
