This civil contractor was founded many years ago by a few mates who loved working together. The principles today are the very same as they were with the same leadership team who have hired talent around them to help grow the business to make it what it is today.
It is a company built on friendship, principles and a fair go. These guys are far from a cowboy outfit, yet also very far from a top tier National Civil Company. This is the kind of business you want to work for where everybody knows your name, you can forge true friendships and your work really makes a difference.
They specialise in the area of sporting fields and outdoor spaces along with landscaping & earthmoving. They are a go-to trusted subcontractor from the very largest players and a principle contractor on projects up to $10m.
Due to the successful delivery of an iconic project gaining all the plaudits in the news, and receiving the green light on further tenders, they are now looking to welcome an additional Leading Hand to join the team.
Your RoleThis is an opportunity for a Leading Hand to work with a great bunch of principled people who pay good, solid money for you to do what you love with plenty of work on the horizon. These guys really do offer you a career and not just a day's work with exceptional loyalty within the business and an excellent name in the industry that would look excellent on your resume. You also usually only have to work one Saturday a month!
Their yard is based in the Northern Suburbs but they win work all over metropolitan Melbourne. You will be mentored and work very closely with an experienced Supervisor (who I know personally and is a funny and easy-going guy with good values and who is great to work with day to day). He's a very patient man who is open to suggestion and really does bring his people together well. If I were a Leading Hand wanting to progress to Supervisor, this is the Supervisor I would want to learn from.
To be considered for this role, you must have some experience in building sporting fields, open spaces and landscape construction experience. Certification in Landscape / Construction and OHS is also required.
You have the opportunity to align yourself with a Civil Contractor who treats their staff like a family. They have very genuine country values and have been very careful to cultivate this type of culture within the business. All of our employment is permanent and long-term with the ability to move up the ladder and progress in the business as you continue to grow with the company.
These guys have a Leadership Program with monthly training and paid career upskilling to further enhance your skills while getting paid for it. Companies that do this see their people as their biggest assets.
You can expect an above average salary package as well as to work with a highly respected contractor with an excellent name in the industry. When you find out who it is, you will agree with this point for sure.
You will also be provided with a vehicle with full private use and an annual bonus up to 10% of your base salary. This contractor usually only worksone Saturday a month which gives you a great work life balance to boot!
