Civil Operations Manager / Senior Civil Engineer

SUMMARY

A growing local team is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to take on the role of Senior Civil Engineer/Operations manager within their team. You will be working with the Construction Operations Manager and Commercial Manager to effectively lead a team of Estimators, Quantity Surveyors and Project Engineers on current and future projects.

Please note* Only candidates in Australia with 5 + years of Local Experience will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and provide oversight, coordination, and office support to the Estimating and civil construction team, defining quality and safety expectations and standards.
• Consult, scope and quote new jobs.
• Deliver leadership and operational support as an operational peer of the Construction Manager.
• Ensure that all works are completed within the quality specifications of the job/project, relevant permit/certification requirements and the general company standards.
• Direct leadership responsibility for all staff
• Monitor key performance indicators and make data-driven recommendations and decisions.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, safety, and excellence.
• Oversee resource allocation, and procurement.
• Mentor Junior Engineers, Estimators and Quantity Surveyors

PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated Australian experience as a Site, Project or Senior Civil Engineer.
• 5 + Years Working on Civil Projects (Roads, Stormwater, Pavements, Carparks, or Subdivisions)
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Masters in Construction Management Desirable
• Active Membership with Engineers Australia
• Chartered Engineer - Highly Regarded
