As a a Substation Civil/Structural Design Team Leader, you’ll help find clever solutions to interesting problems as you grow your skills every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who you’re proud to work with and get to know. Here’s how:

  • You’ll be responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Substation Civil/Structural Engineers and Design Drafters to collectively deliver of designs and provide technical advice for Powerlink’s regulated network investments, non-regulated connections, exciting transformation projects and decisions associated with operational and asset management matters.
  • You’ll be responsible for resource planning, work allocation, and coordination of both internal and outsourced resources to ensure quality and timely design delivery and successful project outcomes.
  • You’ll work within a complex technical environment and undertake complex problem solving to ensure optimal design outcomes are achieved.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering or similar
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in a relevant field or ability to register would be advantageous
  • Experience with design, construction an/or maintenance of substations
  • Proven capability and experience with leadership of a technical team

We'd also love you to have:

  • Spent a considerable part of your career in the High Voltage i nfrastructure design or similar environment, and can demonstrate a thorough and broad understanding of the engineering and project delivery principles in the energy industry.
  • Established and led successful technical teams in a complex technical environment in a previous role and are a measured, influential and emotionally intelligent leader with an ability to support and grow a diverse team.
