Our mission is to install, upgrade, repair, and maintain service lines, ensuring seamless connectivity between residential and commercial properties and the electricity distribution network Syscon is seeking an experienced and dynamic Line worker, cable joiner, contestable workers to join our team. This is an opportunity suited to an experienced Cable joiner or trades assistant/ laborer who is looking to take on a new challenge. You will receive on the job training in order to support your transition to becoming a skilled Cable joiner/Lineworker
Qualifications & experience
- Current driver's license and Construction White Card
- Must be committed to Workplace Health and Safety and company policies
- General Civil /pipelaying experience in Australia
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar industry
- Read and interpret DBYD – (Dial Before You Dig Plans)
- HR Truck License
- Experienced in use of plants/excavators around services
- Ausgrid Pegasus Training -Current
- Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network. Current or previous experience working in the electricity supply industry
- Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations
Tasks & responsibilities
- You will work safely near live electrical apparatus as well as operating plant and equipment safely near live electrical conductors and apparatus.
- Complying and implementing enterprise WHS and environmental procedures and processes.
- This is an opportunity suited to an experienced Cable Repairer or trades assistant/ labourer who is looking to take on a new challenge. You will receive on the job training in order to support your transition to becoming a skilled electric tradie
- You will be an electrically qualified field worker, primarily involved in the construction, repair and maintenance of our overhead network assets to ensure the safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability for customers
- Complying and implementing enterprise WHS and environmental procedures and processes.
