Kallangur State School is looking for someone who is a dynamic team player to join our cleaning team. We seek a dedicated individual who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings, capable of efficiently working within a small cleaning team. This role is offered on a Temporary Part-Time basis (0.92FTE), 70 hours per fortnight available from 08 July 2024 until 09 August 2024, unless otherwise determined. The role entails split shifts spread across five days a week, covering both morning (4:30am - 7:30am) and afternoon sessions (1:30pm - 5:30pm), tailored to accommodate before and after school hours.

Kallangur State School is a co-educational school offering classes from Preparatory to Year 6. Our school population is comprised of many cultural backgrounds.
The early phase extends from Preparatory to Year 2 and the middle phase covers years 3 to 6. Kallangur State School delivers a rich and diverse curriculum in accord with the Australian curriculum, assessment and reporting authority.
Role:
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
- Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
- Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces.
- Disposal of rubbish and litter control including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings.
- Dusting including student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
- Hosing.
- Removal of graffiti.
- Sweeping and vacuuming.
- Vinyl/timber floor maintenance including buffing, stripping and polishing.
- Other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Principal/Business Manager.
Security
- Activating and disarming school security systems as required.
- Locking and unlocking buildings.
Liaison
- Liaise with Principal/Business Manager concerning purchase and/or replacement of cleaning materials.
- Reporting security, safety, damage concerns to the Principal/Business Manager or Schools Officer (Facilities and/or Grounds).
- Referring members of the public to relevant school personnel as required.
