About the Role

Based in Ipswich, an opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Assessment and Training Officer to join our team. This newly created role will bring a high level of subject matter expertise to conduct client health care assessments, support care planning and staff training. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this dynamic role is instrumental in identifying, assessing and responding to clinical risks to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.

Key Accountabilities include:

Client Intake, Reviews and ongoing Care

• Liaise with the Intake and client services team for all clients with health and medical needs, this may involve face to face or phone meeting with clients, families and other stakeholders

• Complete an assessment of the client’s care needs including medication and prepare the Care Plan as required

• Assist with the review and update of client Care Plans, Individual Support Plans and other required plans for all clients with medical needs, as required

• Work collaboratively with all key stakeholders for positive outcomes

• Maintain direct oversight of supports to clients with high intensity supports

Training

• Provide the relevant training to all employees in the implementation and effective use of clinical policies, procedures, templates and forms

• Preparation and implementation of effective training sessions for all Support Workers in client specific clinical/medical requirements

• Monitor and maintain client specific clinical/medical training competencies

• Liaise with Rosters and the Training teams to coordinate and schedule required training sessions

• Maintain employee training records and competencies in all required systems

Clinical Compliance

• Improve the performance of client service delivery through process updates, maintaining NDIS guidelines and continual improvement

• Review and maintain all clinical policies, procedures, templates and forms

• Monitor relevant NDIS changes and updates to ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date using best practice principles

• Complete tasks whilst working to set time frames, including project deadlines

• Ensure client files are maintained to a compliance standard

• Provide relevant monthly reporting prior to the reporting deadline for inclusion in the monthly Board report

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Nursing and current AHPRA registration.

• Minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (experience in Disability support will be highly regarded).

• Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, NDIS Practice Standards and Clinical Governance Frameworks.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ethos of client service.

• Good decision-making skills ensuring effective supports and incident response.

• Experience in the development and delivery of training programs to address identified training needs and gaps.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and understanding of continuous improvement concepts.

• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence along with a comprehensively insured vehicle

• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

• Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance Card
