The Clinical Consultant role sits within Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW). It delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Communities and Justice Sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.
What you'll do
This role is responsible for facilitating transitions of individuals with complex needs from custodial to community settings, or between services in the community, through collaboration with stakeholders.
What we're looking for
- Experience in establishing a transition pathway for individuals with cognitive impairment and complex needs from custody to the community.
- Experience in establishing a holistic understanding of an individual's risk and needs based on current assessments to inform community-based service delivery.
- Experience in facilitating case conferences to review progress, monitor timeframe, negotiate and address challenges, and ensure required actions are completed to enable an effective and sustainable transition and reintegration.
- In-depth understanding of the NDIS structure and service system e.g. funding arrangements and criteria, available services and providers, quality and safeguards, restrictive practices, stakeholder roles and responsibilities.

Target Questions
- One of the main aspects of the role is to develop a holistic transition plan from custody for people with cognitive impairment and complex needs. Give an example of where you have had to research and analyse information to make recommendations based on relevant evidence and find appropriate solutions.
- The Clinical Consultant role involves a high level of stakeholders' engagement. Give an example of where you were required to explain complex concepts and arguments to individuals and/ or groups.
