Salary: $128,030.56 - $130,582.09 Base per annum

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the PECC and SAS here at St Vicent's.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 provides expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty. The Clinical Nurse Consultant develops, facilitates implementation and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services. The Clinical Nurse Consultant contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

As the Emergency Mental Health CNC the role will require being a clinical leader in the emergency mental health setting. The role requires you to be leading patient care for emergency mental health patients and PECC patients, specifically, assessing, reviewing, formulating and collaboratively planning the care needs of the mental health consumer. The role will be required to be involved and the lead quality improvement projects across the mental health service, working in collaboration and conjunction with both the inpatient and community service at SVHS. Delivery of education as well as planning study days will be an essential component of the role. In addition the role will be leading how evidence is translated into practice and formulating reports, data and performance information for state level presentation.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Clinical Nurse Consultant who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are suitable qualified and experienced, looking to work with a complex and dynamic consumer group in the PECC and SAS. Strong critical thinking and decision making skills with an ability to work well under pressure to ensure optimum outcomes for our consumers are required. Along side an ability to work as part of a leadership team in driving service improvement and improvement including gap analysis, education, research and policy developemnt.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincents Health Australia

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

3. At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney

4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

5. Demonstrated high level computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

6. Demonstrated high level effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
