THE POSITION
The role of Clinical Director in South Australia is a pivotal role. You will be responsible for providing strategic clinical leadership as well as playing a key role in achieving strategic objectives.As an appropriately qualified medical professional with the clinical experience, knowledge, and skills to assume a leadership role in Mental Health Services, you will provide high-level clinical advice contributing to service planning. Moreover, you will assist in the development and implementation of clinical networks, state-wide plans, and recommendations.
Working collaboratively with the Co-Director Mental Health Services, you will jointly lead change management initiatives required in the Mental Health Services across SALHN to transition the services to new care models. Your portfolio will focus on Key Performance Indicators related to community Mental Health and acute Mental Health service delivery and development. This includes, but is not limited to, Emergency Department Presentations and Discharges, Mental Health Emergency Department and Inpatient services length of stay, and Acute Mental Health Service development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-level clinical advice contributing to service planning and development.
- Assist in the development and implementation of clinical networks, state-wide plans, and recommendations.

- Monitor metrics such as Emergency Department Presentations and Discharges, Mental Health Emergency Department and Inpatient services length of stay, and Acute Mental Health Service development.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Medicine: Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Specialist Qualifications and registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior clinical leadership role.
- Proven track record in planning and providing Health Services.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality public hospital Mental Health services.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire professional groups to achieve best practice clinical outcomes.
