Your Role:
We are seeking expressions of interest to join the Nursing School team, facilitating our nursing students in our procedural areas.
Duration of appointment to the Nursing School will be negotiated with successful applicants, however will range from 1 to 6 months spread throughout the year.
Working days: Monday-Friday
Shift times: 07:00-15:30 am (or in line with student requirements)
You will not be required to work public holidays
While a student facilitator, you will orientate and schedule nursing students to our busy procedural areas, liaise with the clinical facilitation coordinator, procedural managers and staff, and tertiary partners. You will be required to work with students and provide regular verbal, and written feedback on their performance. This role is 76 hours per fortnight, working Monday to Friday, mostly 0700-3:30pm.
Working with the Nursing School would be considered a secondment unless otherwise negotiated. You would therefore return to your home cost centre outside of secondment period. Please communicate your interest in facilitating with your direct line manager.
*Although student placements run from mid January to mid December, they do not always run consecutively and therefore may be periods where you will be required to work in the clinical areas in your usual role, or take annual leave as negotiated with the theatre staffing manager.
Essential requirements to be considered for this position:
- A strong clinical background and knowledge base in procedural areas (Minimum 2 years post registration)
- Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
- Ability to work as instructed, and autonomously
- A positive role model for students and fellow staff
- Prioritises safety in all aspects of care
- TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or willingness to work towards
