What you'll be doing
Safeguards is a multi-disciplinary program community CYMHS program providing early and brief therapeutic intervention for children and young people (0-17) experiencing acute Mental Health distress. Interventions include individual, family, parenting and group therapy, outreach appointments, and collaboration with other health care, educational and community providers.
The Safeguards team has a strong culture of providing person-centred care, professional development, staff support, collaborative teamwork, clinical supervision and practice improvement. Safeguards also provides some extended hours services (e.g. late afternoon/early evening, Saturdays, subject to change), providing innovative group programs, planned appointments, or phone follow-up. Penalty rates apply for extended hours work.
The Safeguards Clinical Lead, in collaboration with the Child &Youth Mental health Service (CYMHS) Service Manager and Consultant, will provide expert clinical and operational leadership and supervision to the CYMHS Safeguards community team. The Clinical Lead may be required to act up into Service Manager's position where indicated and delegated by the Service Manager or Service Director.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant qualification in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing with current AHPRA registration. For Social Work, eligibility for membership with AASW and demonstrated experience as a Level 2 or above. For Psychology, a Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology from an APAC Accredited University. For Nursing - Minimum 5 years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have an approved post graduate qualification Diploma/Certificate or evidence or working towards Masters.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Clinical Leadership, service coordination and support to a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in providing assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and young people experiencing Mental Health problems (including acute Mental Health distress), their families and caregivers, and the application of systemic intervention principles to collaboration with other stakeholders for ongoing care.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in partnership development and negotiation with a wide range of service providers.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical services or programs.
