Base salary: $104,816-$112,236 p.a. (f/t) or $52.86-$56.60 p.h. (p/t) (Nurse Grade 6 - Band 1).
5 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 17.5% loading.

About the role
The Mount Isa Hospital Maternity Services hub is the referral centre for all pregnant women in the NWHHS region and for a small NT community; providing care to women and their families within its' Antenatal service, Antenatal/Postnatal Inpatient Unit, Birthing Unit, Special Care Nursery and Home Visiting program.
It consists of 8 beds, with a 3-bed Birthing Suite and a 3-cot Special Care Nursery. The nursery has CPAP and ventilator capabilities, undertaking short term respiratory support for newborns, or stabilisation before transfer to a tertiary facility for ongoing management.
The unit has approximately 500 births per year.
This role provides leadership in clinical decision making in the midwifery group practice, community and maternity unit, delivering woman-centred care at an advanced clinical level leading to positive outcomes for women.
Permanent roles available, hours negotiable up to full-time.
Requirements and other information
MUST be eligible for registration as a Midwife with AHPRA ( https://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Accreditation/IQNM/Before-you-apply.aspx )
Highly regarded:
- Competence in perineal suturing and Healthy Hearing screening would be highly regarded.
- Possession of, or working toward, relevant post-graduate qualifications.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for successful candidates.
This is a VPD risk role.
Probationary period of 6 months may apply.
