Clinical Nurse Anaesthetics and Recovery

Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join the Perioperative team. On offer is a Permanent part-time or full-time position (minimum 64 hours per fortnight). The work hours are Monday to Saturday including day and afternoon shifts, and includes an on-call roster.

Our Perioperative Unit specialises in surgical procedures including gynaecology, general surgery, orthopaedics, plastics, urology, ophthalmology, and endoscopy. The team prides itself on giving the highest standards of care to our patients and outstanding clinical support to our team of surgeons and anaesthetists.

We are looking for a very experience Clinical Nurse, with post-graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics, and strong leadership skills.

Salary range: $52.63 - $56.38 (RN level 2) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a highly capable anaesthetic and recovery CN to take on the following responsibilities:

• Be a role-model in all aspects of leadership and promote a positive team culture within the unit
• Demonstrate professionalism at all times and strive to improve the clinical standards and capabilities of the unit.
• Coordinate outstanding patient care standards
• Monitoring outcomes and initiating improvements and changes to processes and practices where necessary
• Participating in the review, development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and clinical protocols
• Provide educational opportunities for professional development of the team.

About you

To be successful in your application you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse (no restrictions)
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a busy anaesthetics and recovery role
• Post-graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics
• Leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff
• Demonstrated advanced interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate management and workloads
• Strong knowledge of continuous improvement process, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement measures
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and Clinical Risk policies are also of value.
