To be successful, you will have...
- Possession of, or substantial progress towards, the attainment of a certificate, diploma or master’s in child & Adolescent Community Health Nursing (or equivalent) through an accredited institution
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across a diverse spectrum of the population.
- Understanding of the principles and practice of Primary Health Care and the application to practice
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge and understanding of cultural issues and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse communities in regional/rural areas
Position Profile:
This position promotes the health and well- being of children, families and specific community groups using a range of health promotion, health education, surveillance and early intervention strategies that are based on the principles of primary health care and service priorities.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

The Pilbara is WA’s second most northern region, defined by the Indian Ocean to the west and the Northern Territory border to the east. The Kimberley Region lies to its north across the Great Sandy Desert and the Pilbara’s southern reaches border the Midwest and Goldfields regions. The region covers a total area of 507,896sq km (including offshore islands). Most of the inhabitants are in the western third, whereas the eastern third is largely desert with few inhabitants. Today the Pilbara economy is crucial to the State, providing 2 of the State’s largest export revenue earners – iron ore and liquefied natural gas.
