We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our purpose, which is to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.About the Clinical HaematologyClinical Haematology forms part of the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre at Austin Health, and provides services for a wide range of benign and malignant haematological conditions in the inpatient, specialist clinics, day treatment and home settings. Close collaboration occurs with laboratory haematology. Apheresis, autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation form part of the service. A consultative service is also provided throughout Austin Health.About the roleAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and dynamic haematology nurse to join the Clinical Haematology CNC team as the Myelodysplasia (MDS) and Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC). This role will work across the acute haematology inpatient ward, Day Oncology (including Day Oncology at Home and the Haematology Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic), Apheresis, Specialist Clinics and other clinical areas as required.The role is permanent 0.6 EFT (24 hours/week). Days must include Tuesday and Friday due to clinc, 3rd allocated day is negotiable.About youTo be successful in this role you will be/have:
- Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Post graduate qualification in Oncology/Haematology nursing or equivalent
- Significant clinical haematology experience, with experience in a senior nursing role
- Evidence of a commitment to excellence in the care of haematology patients, with demonstrated understanding of the care and management of patients with MDS and MPN in an inpatient and ambulatory setting
- Excellent organisation, time-management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
