Access theRole detailsThe BreastScreen Mackay Team at the Mackay Community Health Centre are seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Counsellor to join their team on a temporary basis.How to apply and for mandatory requirements regarding this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityThe Clinical Nurse Counsellor is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies.)The Clinical Nurse Counsellor assists with the delivery of a quality breast cancer screening and assessment service that operates in accordance with relevant policies and protocols of the BreastScreen Queensland Program and Queensland Health and that meets the BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standards, for the women who reside in our region. To assist, implement and maintain the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.About the TeamThe BreastScreen Queensland Mackay Service provides screening mammograms within the guidelines of the BreastScreen Australia and the BreastScreen Queensland Programs. These programs are funded through Commonwealth/State to provide a free population-based mammography screening and assessment service to women over the age of 40 years. The service seeks to provide a first-class service to women employing state of the art equipment and providing high level training for all its staff members. Staff members operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a philosophy of excellence.The BreastScreen Queensland Mackay Service screens approximately 9,000 women annually at fourteen (14) screening sites within the Mackay, Hinterland and Whitsunday area.About our Hospital and Health Servicehas 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
