About the role
The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:

• The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
• A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
• The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

We are looking for someone who…

• Has current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty.
• Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Has Advanced Life Support Certification and extensive experience with CERS/CPR policy.
• Has demonstrated understanding and experience in various teaching methodologies including the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate unit based education.
• The ability to work in a seven day rotating roster.

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
