This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) perioperative department as a Clinical Nurse for Robotics.
You will bring your passion to the role where you will work with a great team to support quality patient care.
This role will be part-time, fixed term providing maternity leave coverage and will be pivotal in providing quality medical care and services. This role is expected to end January 2025 but the successful candidate will have the option to convert to permanent employment as a Level 1 Registered Nurse at the end of the fixed term arrangement.

As an outstanding Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for driving our robotic service
Your skills will include:
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
- At least three years of perioperative experience with two years of experience in robotic surgery. One year of leadership experience preferred.
- Post-graduate qualifications within this area or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment
- Willingness to be a positive team member with an attitude to support others and problem solve efficiently
The Robotic CN facilitates planning, organisation, direction, and evaluation of the Robotic Surgery program. This includes coordination of care for robotics surgery patients; program management; staff education and training; supply and equipment management; the oversight of multidisciplinary teams; and acting as a liaison between the physicians, nursing staff, support staff, and vendors.
- Is a key resource person in the development and implementation of clinical and programmatic policies and procedures.
- Is a key resource person in performance and competency requirements and assessment for robotics surgical teams/staff.
- Is a key resource person in the orientation, training, and preceptorship to the robotic Service.
- Liaises with perioperative coordinators to ensure adequate skill mix for the robotic service.
- Coordinates and plans adequate equipment, consumables and supplies for the robotic service.
- Routinely acts as a clinical resource/adviser to staff for problem identification and resolution. Anticipates and proactively guides care to prevent untoward events. Performs clinical troubleshooting during robotic procedures.
- Functions as a liaison with key stakeholders.
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
