Clinical Nurse (Special Care Nursery)

The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Special Care Nursery) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Currently be working in or have recent level 4 Special Care Nursery experience or level 5 - 6 neonatal intensive care experience
* Work in a Team Leader role and operationally manage the shift
* Provide advanced neonatal nursing care for infants within the Special Care Nursery
* Demonstrate advanced neonatal expertise and problem-solving skills within the neonatal service and areas of birth
About you
To be successful in this position you will require
* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
* Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
* A Graduate Certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
* Have a recognised post graduate qualification in neonatal nursing or be working towards gaining this qualification
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
* Permanent full time, permanent part time (minimum 48 hrs p.f.)
* Base salary ranging from $104 816 - $112 236 p.a., $52.86 - $56.60 p.h
About Us
The Newborn Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital is part of the division of Women, Newborn and Children's Health and is comprised of a 12 cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a 24 cot Special Care Nursery (SCN). The SCN operates as a Level 4 neonatal service comprised of a High Dependency Unit and a Newborn Early Discharge Service, based at Southport.
