Job description

The role:

Ensure the provision of effective and efficient midwifery care in relation to Complex Care issues in pregnancy:

  • Provide specialist care and expertise in relation to Complex Care issues in pregnancy which may include drug and alcohol dependence, significant mental health considerations and complicated psycho-social factors.
  • Works in partnership with Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM), Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC), medical staff, allied health, and other key stakeholders to provide leadership and safe and effective practice across the maternity service.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 64 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $103,466 to $109,165 pro-rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife
  • Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
