About Department
Heyfield Hospital Inc is a 60 bed facility providing aged and sub acute care. The aged care service comprise Laurina Lodge offering ageing in place services to 51 residents. The hospital includes general medical, palliative care, DVA, Transition Care Program and emergency assessment stabilisation services.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a Grade 2 Registered Nurse who has gained a specific post basic qualification and had 12 months experience working within the clinical area of their specific post basic qualification. Alternatively, they have had a minimum of 4 years post registration clinical experience in the relevant specialist field. The Clinical Nurse Specialist demonstrates specific clinical expertise and acts as a role model for other nurses. In addition to delivery of patient care, the Clinical Nurse Specialist actively participates in staff education programs, revision and formulation of policies and contributes to the development of the profession.
Duties
- Act as a role model for the clinical team, being accountable for implementation and following all standards, CGHS policies and procedures.
- Manage the delivery of excellence in holistic care to meet the needs of all clients.
- Provide clinical leadership working collaboratively with medical and allied health clinicians.
- Ensure clinical assessments and care planning are completed in collaboration with medical, allied health clinicians and lifestyle staff to enhance clients personal preferences and meet accreditation outcomes.
About You
- Grade 2 Registered Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- Relevant postgraduate qualification/and 12months experience working in the clinical area of specified post basic qualification, or minimum four years post registration experience, including three years’ experience in relevant specialist field
- Aged Care experience preferred
