About the Role
You will provide primary consultations with clients in the community, perform clinical diagnostic assessments and establish a management plan as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Intervention and short term management aims to optimise psychological function, encourage self-management and promote empowerment for clients to improve their health outcomes, wellbeing and quality of life. Secondary consultation to colleagues and the provision of formal education across HIP is an essential component of the role.
You will lead the CCS Psychology Service and take overall responsibility for professional issues and service delivery.
- Lead the CCS Psychology Service - including regular collaborative consultation, mentoring and clinical case review with other CCS Psychologist and take overall responsibility for professional issues and service delivery across CCS.
- Direct clinical provision of high quality and evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention, education and management.
- In consultation with the interdisciplinary team, formulate management plans that take into account a client's strengths and limitations.
- Provide secondary consultation and advice to the multidisciplinary team.
Classifications for this position will range from classification range Grade 3 PL1 - PL4 ($106,158 - $121,477 per annum, pro rata for part time).
Your Contribution
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Australian Psychological Society.
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
- More than 5 years' experience as an endorsed Clinical Psychologist (at grade 2 level or equivalent)
- Extensive experience as a Clinical Psychologist, working with clients experiencing psychological issues, multiple health issues and complex care needs that impact safety, function, independence, self-management skills and health outcomes.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with a wide range of health professionals and social care services to facilitate the achievement of health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Health Independence Program
This position will be part of the Health Independence Program based in the Complex Care and Chronic Disease Team. The intent of HIP is to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.
