- Temporary Part Time 8 hours per week leave relief position until 4 February 2024 with the possibility of extension.
- Permanent hours from 8 - 29 hours per week
The Virtually enhanced Community Care (VeCC) service is a multidisciplinary service that provides both face-to-face and virtual care in the community including care navigation, care coordination and health coaching interventions. The VeCC works with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of all ages living in the Illawarra Shoalhaven district with a life limiting chronic illness, including those requiring acute care through the VeCC – Virtual Hospital Ward. The VeCC service supports patients to live independently and comfortably at home as long as possible with access to allied health and nursing staff and remote monitoring of their symptoms and wellbeing.
This position is part of the VeCC multidisciplinary team and will provide high quality, patient-centred, evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes of patients and families/carers engaged with the Virtually enhanced Community Care (VeCC) service.
The position will increase access to end-of-life psycho-social services for people with a life limiting chronic illness.
The Clinical Psychologist will deliver care through multiple methods including telehealth, virtual communications and face-to-face sessions.
The position will maintain the confidentiality of all clients and adhere to all ISLHD policies, practices and guidelines.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Selection Criteria * Master's degree or higher with AHPRA endorsement in Clinical Psychology or eligible to progress to same.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience and service mode (virtual and face-to-face).
- Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice including working with Aboriginal Communities.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of psychological therapy, behaviour management and psychoeducation in the field of Chronic Disease, End of Life Care and patients requiring Acute care.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to Quality Improvement or Clinical Research projects to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Current NSW Class C driver’s license.
