We are currently seeking an experienced and capable Clinical Support Nurse to join our busy Industry Medical Services (IMS) team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Industry Medical Services you will be responsible for effectively supporting our clinical team at our largest commercial account.
Your main focus will be on the effective management of the medical services through customer-facing activities and managing site-based personnel. You will have the opportunity to engage with site based personnel and clients through operations in Perth and travelling to client locations.
Overview:
This nursing role will be the first point of contact for nurses/paramedics whilst on duty assisting with operational duties and responsibilities. The position will be located at our Belmont Head office but will also be required to travel across all Rio Tinto sites to assist with site onboarding, inductions and training support.
What you'll do:
- Ensure that St John Nurses/Paramedics and our Rio Tinto clients have connectivity and access to quality Clinical Support.
- Support the project manager and Rio Tinto leadership team.
- Provide daily support and mentoring to mine site nurses/paramedics.
- Provide training and coordination of training in Perth and onsite, maintain a training matrix record.
- Delivery of Rio Tinto Periodic Medical Program (PMP) training, coordination, and management. Provide regular updates to Rio Tinto representatives on training compliance and data.
- Onboarding of new and existing St John mine site nurses/paramedics.
- Develop relationships and take part in meetings with key client stakeholders on a regular basis (RTIO Contract Owner, Central ES Team, ESS, HSSupt, HSEC Managers, HSEC Tech Team)
- Maintain the risk register and promote a positive safe work environment adhering to process and policy.
- Provide investigation into clinical incidents, implement recommendations, maintain Clinical Governance taking part in auditing.
- Develop, review and implement clinical protocols, procedures, and related documentation.
- Promote a positive work culture and Support Nurses/paramedics through change processes.
- Assist with the human resource management of nurses/paramedics.
What you'll need::
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
- Minesite nursing experience essential.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in emergency settings.
- Sound experience with completing RTIO Periodic Medicals (PMP).
- Driver's Licence (C) - Manual
- National Police clearance Certificate (issued within last three months)
- Drug and Alcohol Tester Certificate (willing to obtain)
- Current CPR Certificate and ALS1 or ALS2 Certificate essential.
- Occupational Health Nurse experience - highly regarded.
- Certificate III in Response and Rescue - desirable
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment highly regarded.
- Rio Tinto Induction (under 1 year validity) - highly advantageous
