Clinical Support Officer
The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity is available at Newcastle Anglican as our new Clinical Support Officer. Reporting to the Clinical Director you will work across Anglican Care’s 9 facilities throughout Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast and Mid North Coast, ensuring the overall clinical management of our residents in line with the aged care quality standards.
In a supportive team, you will be assisting managers and registered nurses to achieve best practice outcomes and completion of continuous improvement activities.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced aged care Registered Nurse to take the next step in their career. This role will be offered as a Full Time, 12 month contract.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Training on clinical care systems to all levels of staff
- Supporting homes to achieve optimal clinical care outcomes through the implementation of Anglican Care’s policies and procedures
- Providing relief with the other members of the Clinical Practice Unit to key roles in our homes as required.
- To be aware of, and adhere to the Statutory Regulations, Anglican Care’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Philosophy of Care.
- Working with all other members of the team, the residents/consumers and their families to enable each resident /consumer to live and die with dignity.
- Responsible for supporting the Aged Care clinical governance framework
- Responsible for advising and enabling Residential Care Managers to achieve and maintain full accreditation
- Responsible for coordinating and attending training and development of activities concerning Aged Care clinical practice.
- Responsible for monitoring the status of quality activities across homes where they reflect improvement in clinical practice
- Responsible for monitoring clinical practice is reflective of policy across Anglican Care’s homes
About you?
- Tertiary and/or industry qualifications in management, or a health related discipline.
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Experience in training small groups
- Detailed, working knowledge of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
- Experience in evaluating workplace practices against accreditation standards, quality systems, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic care planning and documentation systems
