This position will provide administrative support to the clinical team, this multidisciplinary team includes experienced Nurses, Social Workers, peer workers Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Dietitian and Psychiatrists that work collaboratively to provide excellent mental health care. A key component of the role is regular data entry and the generating of clinical reports, this assists clinicians in managing the clinical requirements both direct and indirect of their role.
The Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service provides mental health care to the communities of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens, we currently have 5 days per fortnight available Thursday, Friday and alternative Wednesday at Lake Macquarie based at Charlestown and 3 days per week (22hrs per week= 2x 8hr days and 1x6hr day) based in Newcastle, James Fletcher hospital.

Charlestown is located within Lake Macquarie region and is a fabulous base to explore surrounding villages and enjoy Newcastle’s relaxed beach lifestyle. The beautiful Lake Macquarie is ideal for water sports and sits next to stunning ocean beaches, including the famous sea caves at the aptly named Caves Beach, the perfect spot for a classic seaside escape. Nearby Belmont is home to two major sailing clubs and numerous waterfront restaurants and cafes. Charlestown is also home to a bustling retail centre, Charlestown Square, hosting over 280 speciality stores being the largest shopping centre in the Hunter region.
- We are looking for someone who thrives in a team environment, has a can-do attitude and who is able to prioritise their workload around the demands and needs of the clinical team.
- Being able to be flexible and adaptative are essential skills required to perform this role.
- The successful applicant will need high levels of communication skills as they will be negotiating administrative support daily with the clinical Team.
- The applicant will also have high level knowledge of the use of Microsoft applications and is confident and proficient in computer programmes.
