Your Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met, infrastructure performs optimally, and service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, implementing security measures, and documenting detailed system configurations. You'll work closely with developers and engineers to design and deploy cloud infrastructure that meets our organization's performance, scalability, and reliability standards. Please note in this role may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to perform system maintenance or resolve system issues. You may also be required to participate in on-call rotations to provide 24x7 support for critical Infrastructure.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to design infrastructure and cloud solutions that meet the organization's performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Monitor, improve, maintain, and enhance cloud systems to operate within desired SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with the organization's infrastructure, including hardware failures, software bugs, and network connectivity problems.
- Develop and maintain plans for recovering from system failures or disasters, such as data center outages or cyberattacks.
- Keep detailed documentation of Praemium’s infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to ensure continuity of operations and reduce downtime in case of system failures.
- Liaise closely with your teammates in IT and internal stakeholders daily to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide escalated 2nd and 3rd-level technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of issues relating to Cloud Systems and services.
- Document detailed system configuration for the purpose of quality, transparency, knowledge transfer and business continuity.
- Manage change and incident requests relating to the Praemiums Infrastructure.
- Provide broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
- Support the development of plans for backups and disaster recovery and execute those plans when necessary.
- Plan, deliver and report on the regular scheduled and proactive maintenance of Infrastructure and Services.
- Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3-5 years previous enterprise engineering experience with 3 years’ experience working with Azure.
- Experience in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience within a DevOps Engineer role and concept
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Understanding of data storage and database technologies, such as SQL and NoSQL
- Strong knowledge of Azure Shell Scripting/PowerShell
- Experience with tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with developing solutions architecture and evaluating architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
