A large local council is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join their team. The purpose of the ICT Cloud Engineer is to analyse, advise, manage and optimise organisational use of cloud services and associated lifecycle to ensure relevant organisational and ICT objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
- Uses infrastructure management tools to determine load, technical performance and financial performance statistics.
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including building and configuration of infrastructure components in virtualised environments.
- Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines.
- Configures tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure.
- Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
- Contributes to the availability management process and its operation and performs defined availability management tasks.
- Analyses service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability.
Experience
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer or suitable equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technology/ICT/cyber security discipline.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cloud environments and services, maximising availability, performance and adherence to SLAs.
- ICT asset management.
- Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications.
- Suitable cloud platform certifications, such as Azure, AWS, Google, IBM etc.
